I blame a birthday party that I distinctly remember at age 6. {No, it wasn't mine.} After a variety of activities, game time was here. I cast the pink fishing pole over the sagging sheet. What would I win?! As I slowly pulled up the rod to reveal my prize, I squeezed my eyes together hoping for something delightful. And there it was; a little box full of perfectly long red glossy stick-on nails. All around the room little eyes gazed upon the oh-so-grown-up prize. My heart smiled.
Since then, I've equated beauty and "being grown up" with pretty nails. I have nails that I constantly try to hide. I'm positive that I couldn't be a hand model. Anyway - this "thought" has constantly made me aware of my nail imperfections. So, I'm constantly getting press on nails (no - I don't like to pay money for manicure after manicure. So - I do it myself). When the fake nails bug me, I opt for painting lovely colors.
And this, my friends, is what I'm talking about. What do you say about grey?!
Apparently this trend came to the forefront last fall. Where was I?! I completely missed it. Considering grey is my most favorite color {see my unfortunately one-toned house}, it would only seem natural to add it to my fingers.
So what do YOU say to grey?! Oui or Non?

Wow, totally have never seen this before. I think it is a great alternative to black or other dark hues for the fall without feeling "goth". The matte look is getting more and more popular too. Not sure how I feel about that one.....does it look to dull?
The matte look is definitely on the rise. I like this one, because even though it's matte - there's a distinct shimmer w/out being glossy. But, yes - I'm sure if we were to try this, then there would have to be some research on the "perfect shade"!
oui oui! Love it!
I'm loving grey right now. Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet email.
YESSSS....love grey on nails. Perfect for the fall :)
Very different, but it works!
OUI! definitely. i like it in a matte finish particularly.
have a good weekend:)
I don't know where I was too as I totally missed it also !!
I love grey ... I really LOVE that color. I also like havinf my nails done ... I actually always have my nails done, I can go out without any make up on my face, but I just can't not have my nails ...nude :) craey, isn't it ...
If you would have asked me that question with no picture attached , I would have say no... but I actually love the one you put ...and the matte finich ... so for me it is : OUI !!!
OUI! Grey came in when black was being shunned again after it's brief visit to the 'mainstream' world (outside of the goth and emos lol).
Trace had THE most beautiful color last year that would take on either a cement tone or a slight brownish grey tone depending on what it was near. I fell in love and had to splurge for it! (mind you I don't buy nail polish really-I have hands I hate as well lol).
I'm in love with the first color you posted-it's sort of greeny-grey! VERY dark, almost black berry tones are also making a nice replacement to the blacks!
Grey? Looks great on other hands .. I am old fashioned ..
