{my home...or so I wish!}

I realize that to some...this home is old news. Yes, true. But, the moment I laid eyes on these pictures :: I had found my perfect, ideal home {with maybe some minor changes, but who really cares!}. Katie Lee Joel {cookbook author and of course wife to Billy Joel} has done an amazing job at decorating their home. I see {me} in every picture. In fact, I think her home looks more like me, than mine does! {Does that mean she's better at being "me"?} Hmm. Either way, I couldn't resist revisting these photos that were featured in Domino. If you've already seen this spread of pics, enjoy again; otherwise, for my family :: now you will know exactly what I'm referring to when I say my {dream} home!

{I'll eat outdoors please!!}

I am anxious for Fall just as much as the next person; however, as Summer comes to a close, I long to spend this holiday weekend outside, enjoying what "weather" is left..These are a few places that inspired this thought ::

top 20 :: Domino Mag

Bottom 10 :: Living Etc.

Enjoy this long weekend!!! Hopefully these pictures inspire you to take your meals and drink outside {weather permitting!}.

Love from Seattle.

{rosemary potatoes}

I'm a sucker for side dishes, roasting things, fresh herbs, and quick yet flavorful success in the kitchen. This week I made the perfect side for me :: roasted potatoes w/ fresh rosemary. Yes, I do realize that this is extremely simple. BUT, don't diss the simple. The flavor was perfect, the recipe was fast and ultimately the dish was entirely satisfying.

I love new potatoes, red potatoes, yukon potatoes and now russet potatoes. Though this dish could be made with your favorite :: I had russet on hand, so used up those. After cutting and then boiling for about 10 minutes to soften, I tossed them in some Olive Oil, arranged them on a cookie sheet and sprinkled them with fresh rosemary. Into the oven they went {400 degrees}. Baked them for about 10 minutes, turned and then continued about another 10-15 minutes.

This side could match well with several different main course ideas. Have fun with the everyday ordinary :: add some fresh rosemary {or your other favorite herb}!

{film spot}

Oh the movies. I didn't have a top film for this week, and I'm sort of sick of that. But, to stay true to my postings...I thought I'd at least continue on the vein of film. One secret love I have :: silent films. Did you know that about me? I don't think it shocks many people, but its a little love that I've had since as long as I can remember {I just don't blast it to the world}. I don't seek out said movies, but when I come across one on the tv, {and I'm alone, as not to bug others} I sit and enjoy! It amazes me to see the old acting/outfits/humor/story line. And, sure - some of them are super long, but others are intently intriguing! I wish I could name all of the ones I've seen, but I can't seem to remember at this moment. {The foreign films are equally captivating for me...you get used to looking at facial expressions for the "flow" of the movie, instead of reading the "perfectly dramatic" captions.} Some of my favorite starlettes from those films include : Connie Griffith, Fay Wray, Lily Damita, Louise Brooks and Carmel Myers. There are many more, but for sake of time {on both my side and yours, I'll stick with these}. The starlettes of those days are featured below.

Such lovely glamour they portrayed! I wouldn't mind being swept away, back to that era {even if only for a day}. Lovely Wednesday to you all!
